Blackfin threads on THT...

I thought it would be a good idea to steer THT members who have Blackfins, or are looking to purchase a Blackfin, over here.  Since I'm not a Blackfin owner, and simply a guest here (thank you Mike!), I don't think it's my place to do the referring...

Hey guys.  Mike I have not bought a Blackfin yet.  I was going to take a look at the one in NY with the Volvos but decided to pass as It isn't fast enough and doesn't carry enough fuel for a Canyon trip from Cape cod.  Long story short, still looking.  As a FYI I didn't know about this site until OffshoreBri mentioned it on THT thread I started.

I am the same guy who went by waggles02673 on the old site and on THT.  Should have lots of questions soon.  Owning a older boat is nothing new to me.  Before I had the Contender that I just sold I had a 1976 Bertram 28 that I rebuilt from the stringers up

Yea, kinda crazy how things worked out. Personally, I think the whole "money" thing could have been handled a lot differently. I think what turned me off as a "Brethern", was Rich loosing his cool. I never saw that coming.

I would have much rather given my money here as well. Many who can't afford to pay are well worth their presence with knowledge.

Our boat came from Suisett harbor, Northside marine. That area down on the Bass river is pretty.

Yeah it is nice down here but gets real crowded during the summer.  Wife is from Nantucket born and raised so she is always reminding me that traffic isn't that bad over here.   I am a local born and raised in Dennis.  Do you run out of Fairhaven?  I have several clients in Fairhaven, Marion and Fall River.  I would love to stop by and check out the boat sometime I am in the area.

Yes, Sconticut Neck, but boat is in the harbor, I feel safer there. You are going to have to wait, unless your wife misses home, I am on Nantucket. :)

How is the crowd at the Gazebo?  If you ar looking for a nice meal go to the Sea Grille 45 Sparks Ave.  I love it on the Island in Sept, enjoy.

Sea Grill is always good. Ate a AK's tonight, Gazebo is not too crowded, stiff East wind so it's a little cold.
We come over for a week every Sept, my favorite time of year, no crowds & everything is cheaper lol.

I have spent a lot of time in the past sitting on a bar stool at AK's watching the day go by.

At one time it used to be the cheapest place to get a good me on the island but since it changed hands 3? Years ago its gotten pricier. We eat at Kitty Murtaughs a lot, good Cowboy Ribeye for the money.
